AMBULANCE LTD - LP
CD review by Night Watchman

Ambulance LTD have a great full-length out called, appropriately, LP. It’s some of the best Brit-pop to never come out of England, because Ambulance LTD are from the Big Apple. It’s a nice mix of The Beatles, Kevin Tihista, Jon Brion, and even a little bit of My Bloody Valentine (on one of my favorite tracks, "Heavy Lifting").

Despite all the comparisons, which I’m sure Ambulance LTD is sick of, LP is just a great, catchy album full of damn good songwriting. The disc drips with feeling and soul, and puts you in that semi-hypnotic late-night mindset, even in the middle of the brightest day.

After all the over-hyped Oasis and Strokes-type bands failed to make any kind of lasting impact, it’s great that New Yorkers are the ones to truly start the new British Invasion.
